ICM has been expanding its offering of Construction Management vs. the traditional paradigm of Contracting with fixed price or cost plus terms. This is a great way to moniter costs and allow us to provide Code and Permitting expertise. That’s the advantage, ICM becomes likes an outsourced technical employee instead of a contractor/supplier.

Our current work still consists of industrial and commercial remodels, change of use projects and minor expansions to accommodate changes in machinery, automation, etc… almost all of this on a Construction Management basis because the skill set ICM brings is broad based.

A principal of ICM is a licensed NC/SC/GA Real Estate Broker. He has been a member of local zoning boards and boards of adjustment for over 20 years. Our Contractors License in NC is Unlimited in the classifications of Building, Highway and Water/Sewer Utility Line. NC is reciprocal with SC and ICM is one step from GA licensing at a clients request. We bring vertical expertise to Projects from Site Selection, Site Development and Facility Construction.

ICM has worked with local, regional and even international companies to maximize Facility Value and insure compliance with zoning codes, soil & erosion with storm water plans, and building codes.


In almost 30 years as a construction company ICM has seen a lot of change in the construction business in our market area. Initially projects were industrial and a majority was related to the textile chemical companies. ICM built small specialty control rooms for Henkel Corp. and Celanese. We constructed mezzanines for process equipment, installation and removal of process equipment for Ciba Geigy Corp., Walsh Chemical and many others. There was even a controlled explosion warehouse for permanent press sizing. We built multiple containment systems for tank farms and waste water containment and recycle systems. ICM moved building columns and built foundations for machinery installations.

As textiles began to wane ICM continued to build industrial projects but expanded away from the chemical segment by building warehouses and distribution facilities for Bryant Electric Supply, Wagner Knitting and Cougar International. We built manufacturing a 250,000 sf manufacturing plant in Cherryville NC for R-Anell Homes. At the time the largest modular home plant east of the Mississippi River. We expanded their facility in Denver, NC without their losing production time.

Seeing industry continue to leave the area ICM began commercial building for office and retail space. We have constructed a Church for Third Street Presbyterian in Gastonia, an office for Dr. Kevin DiBella on Broad Street in Gastonia, a Funeral Home on Union Road, and a Retail Building on Church St. at I-85 in Lowell NC. Recently ICM has built multi-use flex space buildings in Gastonia for Taranis Properties LLC and Sucellus LLC.


ICM is licensed and has experience in Development Work. We have developed residential lots in Gardner Acres and in the Hoffman Road Area in Gastonia. For Sucellus LLC ICM did grading, road, water, sewer, curb, gutter and storm water for 2T Park in Gastonia and performed the same scope of work for 22 at Lowell LLC for  22 @ Lowell Development at Exit 22 of I-85 Lowell NC.
